Oprah Winfrey and Phylicia Rashad Are Hiring Medium to Dark Skin Girls to Star in New OWN Series

Oprah Winfrey is producing a new OWN series David Makes Man that is now casting actors, models, and talent to work on scenes filming in Orlando, Florida. The series is a coming-of-age drama from Moonlight writer, Tarell Alvin McCraney that will star America's favorite TV mom, actress Phylicia Rashad.
Specifically, producers are looking to hire medium to dark skin tone African American girls, age 12-14, that are able to double dutch.

The series, David Makes Man is about a 14-year-old prodigy from the projects who is haunted by the death of his closest friend and relied on by his hardworking mother to find a way out of poverty.

He must choose between the streets that raised him or the higher education that may offer him a way out. Set in South Florida, the lyrical drama, inspired by events in McCraney’s own life, explores the inherent trauma sustained in the fight for survival.
